About Christine
Hello! Thanks for visiting my website. Let me tell you a little bit about me and my photography.
I am a fine art and portrait photographer based in Seattle, Washington.
I graduated with a degree in English Literature from the University of Washington in 1999. Ten years later, I picked up my camera on a whim and began a photography project called 365 Days, where I took my own photo every single day for an entire year. While that project started out as a fun experiment to document a “day in the life” it quickly grew into a passion for creating images that were intended to tell a deeper story, elicit emotion and encourage dialogue.
Today, my photographic interests are wide and varied. While I continue to work with digital photography and creating composite imagery, I also have begun to push my boundaries by experimenting with film and large-format photography as well as working in the darkroom. I also have a love of old photographic techniques such as wet plate collodion. I think the smell of a darkroom is one of the best things in the world. Watching an image slowly appear on paper is absolute magic that brings me joy every single day.
I have exhibited my work in Los Angeles, Tucson, Olympia and Seattle. I have also been featured on 52 Editions and several other photography websites. Limited edition fine art prints are available upon request.
I very much enjoy shooting commissioned portrait session, especially kids and families. I enjoy capturing those unguarded, in-between moments where one’s true self is exposed. Portrait sessions start at $350.
One of a kind, large-format portrait sittings are also available. Shot on 4×5 film, you will receive beautiful prints that are worthy to be passed down for generations. Please feel free to contact me for more details.
